How can you tell if someone likes you??

I know it sounds really gay but I just can't tell when a guy likes a girl. There is this guy in my university class who claims to my friends (and me) in texts that he really likes me. I like him too. However he never texts much (like once every 4 days or something) and when he does he doesn't start up a converstaion with me and often stops texting me after the 4th text.

He is a shy kind of guy, he's told my friends he just doesn't know what to say because he really likes me, but I don't feel that he does. He also says he doesn't know why I like him and told my friends he hasn't dated many girls. He is a genuinely lovely guy, he's not sleezy, or pervy, he doesn't sexy chat which proves hes not after 1 thing AND hes so smart and alluring...

How can I tell if he likes me?

Well if he sends you texts to the effect - he MUST like you!

Its not really good texts...some are like one lines, no questions and then he stops texting me.

Take the bull by the horns - text - or ask him if he fancies going for a coffee/drink sometime. If he doesn't reply, or says no - at least you'll know where you stand.

Get him out for a face to face somewhere, pub/coffee etc. If you decide you like him pin him against a wall & go for it. He wont be shy anymore ;)

hes a student, maybe he cant afford to send loads and loads of texts.

invite him for a coffee or something
