DIVX on USB stick??

I have downloaded a movie in, what i think, is DIVX form it says DivX.avi. I have a Divx LG DVD player but when I put the stick in to play the movie, i cant. I Have looked through all previous questions but cannot find out exactly what im doing wrong. Can anyone enlighten me please?? The idea is that i can download a movie, put it on the stick, watch it via the dvd then erase and start over again that way, i have no need for dvd discs. I need a reply in basic laymans terms as i am not very clever with this sort of thing! Many thanks in advance.

Doc: Thats just it, i dont want to watch it via a dvd disc, i want to just be able to plug the stick in. I have converttodvd and always use this but am trying this as other people seem to be able to do it!! And i can only hope that it downloaded properly but as i cannot see it i dont really know!!

Doc: Don't think so as been using for a couple of years now. Anyways, thanks for the input, I think i'll have to stick to the old fashioned way DVD haha!

it amazes me the amount of people that post on here asking for advice on how to steal things.

You would think all these criminals would rather keep their illegal activities to themselves and not post all other a public website saying they are thieves.
