Another cold day here with pavements like glass .
On my trek to the High St. I saw a lovely pair of boots ,reduced ,half price form sixty quid to thirty ,so I just had to slide into the shop and purchase them .Dark brown leather with suede bits ,calf length
We can go out together now Robinia ,I just need dark brown bag :)
Nothing will persuade me to buy leggings though . Not with my knees :)

Nothing much doing at Shaneytowers Liver and bacon ,mash and greens for dinner ,watched that programme about the Georgians and did some knitting .Wrote one Christmas card . Oh ,what an exciting life I lead .Perhaps I should purchase a La Senza bra :)

morning all, chilly as heck here this morning. Yes its a great year for winter clothing isn't it?...which reminds me I have some stuff I bought last year and never wore, I must pull it out...lovely long fine polo neck sweaters and a purple under shirt tee....
I do fancy jeggings but I think the large bum police might arrest me for frightening the horses....I wonder how long those polo necks were though......

Morning all from an excessively warm Ibiza, had to change my pj's for summer ones last night was just too hot (and no fire on at all) This is not right, if it's Winter then I want winter! Had a super night's sleep, feel much better, Mr N didn't move a muscle, but I can't blame him really as he can't help his fidgety legs, and he does work so hard in the daytime.

Morning all...dull & cloudy and a whopping +5C....but oooh, what a mess the garden looks now the snow's almost all gone, dead leaves all black & packed down everywhere. I might go & have a bit of a sweep & a rake later...or I might not :o)

Plenty of longer length bum coverings in the shop woofy. I like my coats & jackets to cover mine because it's always cold.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers shoes & bags to match shaney :o) Apparently it's no longer against the law if they don't but old habits & all that haha. And my boots are dark brown too so we'll be having a punch up over that bag...I wish I could have found a bargain but I seem to be programmed to head for the dearest items in the shop... I will be wearing them 'til I'm about 70 unless I'm in prison for crimes against fashion for the over 70s, so I'm regarding them as an investment.

Looks like Mr N's not going to move a muscle all day either...

Hi All. Much warmer today but a bit drab. Had a good lunch yesterday but my poor older sister couldn't go. About 15 mins before I was to pick her p she had a pipe leak in her loft which came through the ceiling into her bedroom and her wardrobe. She had to move the mattress and covers off her bed and everything out of her wardrobe. I was almost in tears for her.she had to wait fot the plumber to come so couldn't come with us,
I need some new boots but haven't come across any that I fancy yet and in me price range. I slim (well thin) legs and want knee lenght ones that fit tightly I don't like them flapping about. I'm was also a matching bag and shoes person but now I'm not so bothered.
Hope you all have a good day. I should be going to a funeral of a neighbour's hysband but I just can't bring myself to go. I know that sounds selfishbut I'm not really it's just a feeling I have. Especially going on my own.

I know what you mean, Jude - I seldom go to funerals (and I won't be fussed if nobody comes to mine... though of course I will send you all an invitation). I even missed my mum's, because I was stuck in Kiev. I still grieve but I've never found that funerals help me to do so. Just a personal thing, I know others feel different.

I also match shoes, boots with handbags, but having to change all the contents whenever I change bags is a bit of a bother. Jude, I bought a terrific pair of boots from shoe Zone £25 when I was in England, and they are the most comfy, knee high, flat heels but not ballerina flat, with studded straps crossing all the way up, I love them I have slim legs also. Was looking for new uggs but they really didn't feel comfy in any of the shops, so didn't bother!

I hate funerals, but really have to go, as I've known her for 40yrs and not many people actually liked her, she was bit of a charlatan, so won't be many there, but this time I wouldn't feel right if I didn't go!

Well that law was changed too & it's not necessary for boots to fit tight anymore Jude :o)...let's face it I'd never get any to fit my stiks unless I paid ridiculous designer price. With the casual styles they look ok looser, so long as you don't have bare white legs.

I'd rather not go to funerals, I'm almost phobic about coffins, but I usually go to (my) family ones to be with my sister. I didn't go to my ex-family's last three & I daresay it added to the 'pin-sticking' by m-i-l. S'ok, my day will come, I've got a few trump cards up my sleeve.

Well Charlie's tiddling for England...unfortunately not outside. :o(

Im not keen on funerals meself..Im thinking off not turning up for me own(:O).Dont you hate it when peeps turn up but they couldnt be bovered when the poor blighters were alive.!Ive got a list of people who I dont want at mine and if they turn up I wont be to pleased(that goes for you to prince charlie..didnt even send me a birthday card)me being an MBE and all.:O)my mate bones goes to all the wakes round ere and he doesent even know the corpse..you think im joking.he always comments on the booze and sarnies..hehe..!later dudes me trees up and turning me lights on outside tonight...there's gonna be some hic!ing..!

Lol Vinny that has lifted my mood. There's a band round here called The Midnight Pumpkin Trucks and they always played that song when I went to see them and that vid reminded me of them. They did a great version of it!!
I didn't go to the service but went afterwards and just had a cup of coffee paid my respects and left. so don't feel so bad now.
Next time I'm in town I'll try some boots on then Robi if 'the law's' changed about flapping ones. Maybe I wont look as bad as I think I will.
Had a lazy nodding afternoon after putting up some Christmas lights and deccies round my fire place. Not bothering with my tree a this year. I put all my cards on red ribbons hanging down the wall so that will decorate the room up a bit more.
Had a pile of post today after not getting any for a week.
Guess what time it is now for me.................Cuppa Time!! Yehh!!

Just back from funeral, it was really nice and respectful. I tottered down in heeled boots and my left foot is now killing me, I wore a very smart blk/white tweed suit and no one recognised me! There was a lot of young people but that's the custom here, they support the bereaved friend (the grandson aged 21!) off for a cuppa.

Good job these boots are called Mod Comfys .I had to decamp off the bus coming back. Traffic jammed up everywhere because I had forgotten they were blocking off the High St. for the tree and lights being switched on .So I had to lug me herrings along the road .

Yaay ..we are getting cable teevee on Monday .After years of peering at John Nettles through the snow I'll be able to see him in full fig.

It's turned very cold again after that small hike in temps this morning .

cable, looxury. They could never cable our leafy avenue because they were scared of cutting into all the tree roots and killing them (this was a big problem back in the 90s as I recall). I have to send the parlourmaid out to bring me back TV shows in a cleft stick.

We're only getting a basic package Jno .We already have broadband so they've chucked in the phone and tele for an extra six quid a month . Yah boo sucks to BT.
You can only watch so much television and I only watch what interests me then switch off . But it's nicer to watch it sans snow .
Since we've been here the reception is hit and miss at the best .The transmitter is miles away in Tacolneston and has to beam out over the bump that is Norwich before it gets anywhere near us down here on the coast .If the wind is in the wrong direction you may as well forget it .
We had brilliant reception in London with an indoor ariel .Mind you Crystal Palace was only up the road and we couldn't have cable there either .

Stan says he's switching from Virgin to Sky and is advising us to do the same. We already have Sky telly (jno jnr's so we were having to think about whether to keep it on), so one of their packages would work out ok. We'd get a new router and an HD box, which sounds just fabulous if I knew what it meant. We would have to change our email address, which would be a nuisance. We had to do it once before when Powergen pulled out of the internet biz and it took a while before we'd notified everyone.
