Glad to hear all is finally well neti. Dogs are playing monsters in the garden, no walk today so I am indulging them
Those pups must be a great source of enjoyment and comfort woofy!

DShe says she's very sore and tired,, and just wants her own bed (nothing new there, she always loves her bed!!).Mr N gone off to collect all this work things from finished job, so hopefully that'll mean payment!

oh yeah...at 02.00 I really feel entertained and comforted.....
Ha ha! Sorry about all my typos!
Morning/a'noon...oooh, make it stop, I can't stand these temperatures any more, I'm going into shutdown mode. Everything is 10 times more difficult, just putting rubbish in the wheelie bin is an expedition. We've had enough now thank you weather gods...a blast of mild air would be most welcome. I could no more go traipsing out in it every day than fly to the moon, so I hope you're in militant mode Kit and get some results this week. Just fling some zen eggs at them if they don't listen...and make sure you hit 'em hard!
Anyway here's Heidi, the cross-eyed opossum to make you smile
http://img821.imagesh...g821/4262/opossum.jpg

I've been cobbling together an anorak for Charlie & it's the best laugh I've had for ages...I thought he'd go nuts, he doesn't like being faffed about, but he came to me for about 6 fittings & just stood patiently while I rolled about in hysterics... the first time he goes in the garden in it he'll probably rip it off & bury it..hahaha
Possums & blossums, do any of you have some extra room in your closets? Neti? Be nice for Henry and George with some company. Only, I've got a few items I snatch- ...erm, ...erm, found along the way during these past few months and I don't know where to store them but I really really need them. If la policía knocks on your door just say they're George's Scandinavian friends from the Pride parade in Barcelona, they won't suspect a thing http://www.thelocal.se/30944/20101219/ How many can you store?

Here are some more santa-tars but possums I hope you don't feel you have to use them - I've just been having fun with it. This one's for you Woofy: http://i56.tinypic.com/2eeewrb.png

This one would be for Robi: http://i56.tinypic.com/33nx7j5.png

Jno if she returns before Christmas is over? http://i52.tinypic.com/25fpnog.png

Only Vinny left, Robi do you know which one I'm talking about? Lol@ Heidi, I can't make out if it's a real one? I am worse for wear Robi so in that way I can't do it either. I hurt in places where I didn't hurt before and more in the places where I did hurt before. Hopefully they'll be bringing the plastic down sometime this week to give us some peace over Christmas.
yes Kit, Heidi is real, http://www.metro.co.u...he-cross-eyed-opossum
(..and you have mail)

Hello all, managed to get out to town in the car today so we now have GALLONS of water and cranberry juice..would be oke if we didn't get out again till new year. Dogs had a burger (of course) and we are about to sign cards so they can get in the post tomorrow snow allowing. Thank you for the woofatar Kit, will add it later.
Afternoon Everybiddy. It is very cold today but the sun is shining and no snow as yet so I decided to go for a walk down Elvaston Castle, Robi will know it. http://i53.tinypic.com/2mg1207.jpg

I've never seen so many dogs, dog owners and plastic bags!!

Tonight I'm going to church to sing some carols. I know I'm not really religious but I'm sure it wont do any harm to say a few prayers for the 'poor and needy'. Somebody may just be listening. to me.
I remember the photo you're talking about Kit. Vinny is sitting on or near a boat. He's handsome with hippie hair!!
Have a good rest of the weekend. All of you and keep warm.
Later 'gater(s)
Snow blowers indeed, No Kit, I do not have room for such fripperies!

Daughter finally home safe and well, now I'll be able to sleep well tonight. Her knockers look Ok (big relief to me) and her new bras made me laugh, they are just like the "old women" ones that I wear! now just Christmas to look forward to.

Kit, I'm glad that you still have your sense of humour, and are keeping busy putting santa hats on anything that you can see!!!

Poor Dolly, she has to sleep with an oxygen mask every night, but she seems well and happy.
Ooopd sorry jude, I meant to say what lovely photos, really fresh!
oops, I forgot I'd changed my avatar, I thought we'd had a new visitor :o) Very tasty he is too Kit, thanks :o)

Yes lovely pics Jude but you're one tough biddy, it must have been so very cold down there. If the weather forecasts are to be believed we'll be above freezing by the end of the week, and for some time onwards. Please, let it be so.
And good luck with the singing. We should have been going to an outdoor (eek!) carol concert nr Nottingham but apart from the ridiculous temp - your mouth would freeze & stay open if you held a note, haha - my sister's full of cold. I'm not even sure if it's still on actually.

Hope your daughter recovers well neti...and say hello & love to Dolly.
Yes Robi it was cold but I was well wrapped up. I walked all the way down the lane to the Castle then up to the Golden Gates but they were closed of for repairs so I had to walk all the way back - I was going to walk right up to the main road and back that way. Never mind I did enjoy it but I do hope the temperature does come up soon like you say.
Pleased your daughter is home safe and sound Neti even if she's a bit sore. Still no place like home is there.

Hi Dolly take care and lots of love....x

Going to watch Atonement tonight. I've read the book and enjoyed it so I'll see what they've done in the film. It was one of Ian McEwan's. A few years back I had an urge to read a lot of his books but haven't done any reading f books for ages now. Just can't get into them.]

Right I'm off again now see yerall later...
...and she's off again, our teenager biddy. I decided years ago to read some Ian McEwan Jude but I never got around to it either, I think they have to disconnect the internet first before I read another book... Did you like the one(s) you did read? Those are beautiful photos from the castle Jude, feels like I'm walking there with you and the air is clean. Yes I can tell you know which vinnyphoto I was talking about, the hippie in the harbour, handsome son of a gun. Robi has now sent it to me but it was smaller and blurrier than I had hoped so this is what I decided on instead, ta-da:

santa vinny http://i56.tinypic.com/10g9rmr.png (well Vinny it was either that or a sh1tehawk you know cos you're wearing hats already on almost every photo and that's tricky editing, but I think Vincent turned out real well:)

Naww Heidi, scaredy-possum, I have immediately identified with her. Would have her for my avatar but I don't want people laughing heartlessly at her (I did laugh, though...)
Well who's a blubbering idiot then. i came out of the church with tears streaming.and had a feeling of overwhelming sadness. Who's going to analyse that then? But I enjoyed the service. The choir sang really good and we sang lots of carols and I said my prayers. Anyway my friend came with me and we were soon laughing again on the walk home.
Kit I've read Amsterdam and Enduring Love. I found them quite 'complicated' storylines but at the same time had to keep reading them. I remember liking Atonement more than the others.
I took the photos on my phone. I saw the sun shining through the trees and thought I would try it.

Later 'gater(s) x
Morning all.

Jude I am the same, I blub everytime I go to a carol service, guess it all to do with memories of childhood (halcyon days!)

Yesterday we had a roaring log (bits of wood actually but doesn't sound the same), the house was so hot, we were stripping off every 5 mins, It makes all the difference , even this am. the house is cosy and warm even though the fire went out ages ago, and I didn't have to wear bedsocks or thick pjs. Had a lovely night's sleep.

Hope you are all well and happy.

Yesterday afternoon, calm and peaceful (and wet!)
Morning all..same old thing here, minus 9C.... I need to go out but I can't face this cold & my eyes are so sore I can hardly see. I think it's the dry air, every day I turn up the heating a notch :o/
Sorry I'm not all full of the joys but I feel grotty & I'm losing the will. ...every time I hear a carol or xmas song I run to the radio, swear & turn it off, haha.
Morning all
Same here Robinia .I hate this central heating .it's drying me out slowly .I'll look like a pickled walnut soon.
Freezing cold here.roads are still like glass and we've got to trek to the hospital shortly .
I felt lousy all yesterday ,sickly and headachey for some reason .
I like a Carol Service .We get the Norwegian choir, Ladl Kantori ,here every Christmas at St Nicholas in Yarmouth but you can't get tickets for love nor money ,always sold out .
Sorry to hear you are not too good Dolly .Hope you soon feel better, take care xx
Oh well ..onwards and upwards as the bishop said to the actress ..T.Pip for now
Keep warm .
