Hi all we have segued from very late breakfast to tea and cadburys thick covered choccy biscuits with doggy treats for the dogs. I got an ipad because santa knows I like geeky toys :-)
Hi all. My post just disappeared so if it appears twice - sorry.
I have opened my gadget from my son and put it back in the box. will have to wait for him to come and help me set it up.
Hope you feel better Jno.Nothing worse than having to keep running to the little room.
Also hope Charlie and you are ok Robi.
I'm off to my nephews now so have a good rest of Boxing Day. Take care.
Evening biddies, I am come to assure you that personally I am only slightly above a duckery on the social scale http://www.urbandicti...fine.php?term=duckery ...and also to borrow some of Shaney's Eau Dynamite - wow Shaney that one really must pack a punch! >>>>>> ...you did mean Eau Dynamisante...? I got a bottle of that juice maybe fifteen years ago and I can still smell it - if you see what I mean. It's a beautiful fragrance, so fresh and lovely and yet so complex and self-assured, it's a wonderful signature scent. Now, jno's loo... THAT's DY-NA-MITE!

One of the cords for my laptop appears to be giving up the ghost and it's not the power cord but the other one, the one for the net - dunno what it's called - so I don't suppose I can get it in a store (or can I?) Will call the internet provider tomorrow but with all the holidays I'm afraid the old cord may give up before the new one arrives so if I go missing, that's why. It's that little flap thingy (fluke?) that prevents the cord from slipping out, not the cord as such, but I can't connect if the cord won't stay in... just so yous know.

*hugs Jude right back*
Lots of Hugs to everyone.

Lovely walk along the whole prom at Sheringham and then came back - and went to bed. Arthur Itis had hit me yesterday after kneeling on the floor wrapping pressies on Christmas eve. Sheringham finished me off, so it was Ibuprufen for lunch a a long sleep. Feeling better now, although coming down stairs took me an age.

Not cooking dinner - sausage rolls and salad will have to do.

Absolutely freezing here all day - I see to remember a thaw was forecast for boxing day!!

I would have you know that at the head of our family tree about four or five generations ago was Lord Lovatt. Somewhere down the line one half of the family was disinherited!! I belong in that half ................. :o(

See you tomorrow.

Frozen lettuces and brocolli this am, very cold here now but sunny!

Hope you all survived xmas. We had a lovely but quiet time which suits us!
Morning all. No frost this a.m. makes a change. I had a great evening at my nephews Played a horse racing TV game where we all started with £1000 There were 15 of us betting. Frankie Dettori was introducing it all and the races were real races from the different courses. I came third after 6 races with £2700. The youngsters were yelling at the telly for their horses to win. A really good laugh.
I got to bed about 1 a.m after plenty to eat. My low sugar low fat diet went to pot. I had a helping of crème brûlée that my sister had made. The first time I'd had any for over 12 months. Luvveeerrly.

Hope you have all enjoyed Christmas in all your different ways. Have a good Bank Holiday. I'm in a very lazy mood still but may just make it for a bit of a walk in a bit.
See yer later 'gater(s).
wow, the Lovats seem an up-to-date bunch - they're fighting through the internet with people power

Are you a MacShimidh, Lottie? I shall have to approach you on bended knee.
Morning rumblies ...well I never thought I'd be thrilled to say the temperature's 2°C but what a relief to be in plus figures, it was lovely to go outside & not be stabbed in the eyeballs by the cold air. The bad news is my hips, knees & ankles are screaming about the change...always a price to pay.

We have come to the conclusion we'll never be able to trace our ancestors on my dad's side, everyone who's tried has come to the same blank wall.

oooer, it's raining now....

morning all, better air temps here but the ground still frozen hard. I was parked this morning putting on my spikes when a police car pulled in, cue for the boys to go ballistic...luckily the cop wasn't worried about dangerous dogs and after checking i was okay and wasn't a criminal or drunk, went on his merry way. His passenger was a very young policewoman who looked terrified.
Busy night. I had tum upset, one dog was sick and the other wanted to go out into the garden and shout defiance at a dog barking in the distance.

Me about an hour ago on a long walk with hija. Beautiful weather. I don't usually wear purple but sissy sent me this stole/cape/wrap/shawl thingy and it's lovely and warm and light! She also sent a matching cloche type hat (err I don't think so!)

Have a nice day everyone .xx
As I do not know who my father is, I'll never be able to trace his rellies!!
You look very nice Neti :) I love the wrap thingy .Very swish .
Ps Did anyone watch Upstairs Downstairs ?
I thought it was quite good .Eileen Atkins and Anne Reid held it together though .Brilliant actresses.
Have got Upstairs etc to watch tonight, looking forward to it!

My bro who lives on Sidmouth Hill (Vinny may know of it) couldn't get any gas delivered cos of the snow, and it's a huge house, so he and his wife drove to their daughter's house in Islington for xmas. he has many cars so would have had an adequate one, if not a snow plough!

To you Shaney and Mr S. Have a good day love Jude xx
Happy Anniversary Shaney and Mr Shaney. I will raise a glass to the next 38 years.

Our 39th Anniversary is next week, 3rd January.

As for Lord Lovatt, all I know that he and Minnie Mott at at the head of the only family tree I have (on my fathers side) and they begat my great, great grandfather. Minnie Mott I assume was a servant girl!!

Anyway with lots of begatting taking place the family had some very eminent doctors and surgeons in Harley Street and became very rich. However, my great gradfather ran away to sea at the age of 14 and was disinherited!! He did become a captain (Merchant Navy I presume) and he was the first Captain to head a ship with a full Chinese crew and he charted some never before charted some trade winds. My mother had these charts until recent years, together with a white fox fur from somewhere cold he visited. Unfortunately,we can't find them. However, I do possess all his references.

All interesting stuff.

That is a lovely photo Shaney. I had had a scanner for Christmas, so expect some blasts from the past!!
