I have a new Samsung TV and DVD player and when I have recorded DVDs I am unable to replay on any TV other than the one the programme was originally recorded on,
Does anyone know why this is and is there anything I can do to solve the problem
Thanks in advance

You have to finalise them, then they will play on other players etc.

Thanks very much anotheoldgit.
Am a bit of a ludite with anything beyond the technology of a pedal bin. Could you please let me know how to finalise a disc so my parents can then finally catch up with the new series of Lost!
Yes, I also have a samsung dvd recorder, and yes you have to finalise them.
I am sorry I do not have a Samsung recorder, but I am sure if you look into the manual it will tell you.

I know these manuals can be daunting, so if I were you I would raise the question as a new question ie. "How do I finalise a disk on a Samsung recorder"?
There's usually a button on the recorder's remote control named 'tools' or similar. just press this and it will give you the option to erase or finalise!
