When I right click something and click "open in new window", a small title bar (about 2 inches long) appears with a minimise, maximise and close button. Why does it do this and how can I set it to open these screens full size instead of minimised and floating at random places on screen.

Open that new window (right click). Then go back to the first window and close it. Go back to the new window. Change/maximize the size using your mouse (by dragging the corner). Do NOT use the maximize button (important)!!! After that, CLOSE the window. Done! Cheers, PD
