Finalizing DVD's on a recorder other than the original

I have just had to dump my old DVD recorder ( an LG recorder that took -RW discs ) as it will cost more to repair than to buy a new one. My problem is that I have over 60 DVDs that I have recorded stuff on and would like to keep that have not been finalized. My question is can they be finalized on any new recorder ( as long as it too takes -RW discs ) or are they now useless? Thanks in advance for any help that you may be able to provide.

Try one, you might be lucky. They might play on your computers dvd drive if you have one. If you purchase an LG recorder as a replacement, the discs might work. Sorry I cannot be of more help. These guys might help http://www.avforums.com/

You can finalize later yes .. but the software has to be able to do it when instructed.
VSO's ConvertX has this facility within the drivers.
Most Home DVD players now that play jpg/avi's will play 'open' multi-session anyway. Philips do. PC's will also play them, obviously.
