As I am probably the only ABer who does not have a Mobile,I shall ask you more experienced guys.
Does the Mobile Phone Number prefix have any bearing on which company the person is with?

Not really.

In theory blocks of numbers and prefixes are allocated to a certain provider but because mobile numbers can be ported between providers there is no guarantee the number is still with the same provider it started with.
