Google maps and distance.

Is there anyway I can directions from here to here is OK. But when leaving the road to walk down a path without a road it cannot calculate. I only want it to calculate the distance of the non road route is there anything else that I can use.

Try Google Earth. Click on the Show Ruler icon at the top. Then click on the Path tab. You can then measure the distance between multiple points on the gound, on and off roads....

This site is excellent, measure any distance you like. I used to use it to see how far I'd run.
