Are you one of these people that just has to have a two week break in the sun each year or do you play it by ear? Do you have anything planned for the summer months?
Daffy, I suppose it all depends on your priorities. Mine this year are working so I don't think a two week break in the sun will feature much in my list of them!
I plan to go to Ireland again but for longer this year. After saying hello in Kerry I will visit places new to me including Lisdoonvarna......for the daughter you understand, but I guess being a single lady alone would be fun there. ;-)
Will look for some festivals and go where the wind takes me.
Jeza, sorry to hear that. I feel a bit bad now posting this as there are a few who have said the same. When your health is not good I suppose holidays are of no interest nor importance.
Ratter, there is plenty of time :-)
Ummmm, I am very sorry to hear that about your gramps. I totally understand that and I would do the same in your position. Family comes way over any holiday!
Gness, I've never been to Ireland. Did have the chance to go to Dublin once but passed on it due to whatever reasons I had at the time. I think it would be great fun though (Dublin). My family are from Cork although most of them now live in the states it would be nice to go there.
I still can't get over Wolacoombe costing the same as a trip to Florida!
Ummmm, I know what you mean. I am visiting relations in Sweden and I don't class that as a holiday either. It's different when it's purposely to see family.
We love our beach holidays, fortunately we can go 3 times a year since retirement.Tenerife in February and Late November and Lara beach Turkey in late May.Long haul flights are now too tiring for us.
We still take our five holidays a year (only four this time as one of them fell over Christmas and I couldn't get time off) and neither of us has retired. Absolutely no idea how many we will have when we do!
My Dad has 10 weeks holiday a year, he never takes all 10. I must tell him to take a leaf out of your book Lynda and flippin' well take them! Good on you, keep enjoying them x
the last summer type holiday i had was in 1993 to cyprus. Since then i've been to aunties cottage in cherbourg, flyballl holday in anglesey and a posh hotel in jersey.
This year we now have a baby (plus 3 dogs) so it all becomes a bit tricky
