I am shortly going to Spain on holiday, I don't smoke myself, but assuming I buy 4000 cigarettes to sell in the UK, how much will I pay per carton in Spain, and how much could I sell them for in the UK (London)?

Cigarettes are cheap in Spain but surely it is against the law to resell in Britain,criminal offence.

I would imagine that 4000 cigarettes represents quite a large physical volume and may be a problem if you are flying.

If you are planning to re-sell them, that is illegal.  Don't do it!

Billearly - it's only against the law if you bring them back and sell the cigarettes out of an ice-cream to kids.

A few of my mates have done runs like that just for cigarettes. It must be worth the travel or they wouldn't do it.

I think the maximum you can bring back is 3200 cigarettes unless there is someone else with you then it will be twice that.I am just back from Lanzarote although Spanish owned 200 was the maximum I could bring back.17 euros seemed to be the going rate for decent fags which works out about �9-�10 and the going rate where I stay is �28 a carton

Cigarettes are no �5 for 20 (if you're buying by the packet, not by the carton) in the rest of the UK, so probably higher in London.  Going rate for imports of mates/acquaintences (too late in the evening to spell properly!) is no more than �4 a pack I'd say.  Or �30-35 for a carton (bulk buy discount and all that!!)

Rommel, it is against the law in ALL circumstnces, however it is something everyone does, like copying CDs and downloading things. Mainland Spain + Spanish Islands such as Ibiza, Mallorca etc ( ie NOT the canaries as they are tehnically not classed as Spain for customs purposes) has prices of between 22 and 27 Euros a sleeve (box of 200) for well known brands. Note Lambert and Butler and relatively pricey over there as they are a mainly British brand - nobody else but us likes them. In the UK hey would be cheaper han marlboro etc but abroad they are the same or more (and harder to find unelss you're in a holiday resort or tourist area). I think in this country you'd pay just under �50 in Tesco's etc for a simliar amount. Charge your firends what they can stand and what makes you a healthy return.
Just make sure none of your friends grasses you up as this is illegal.

isnt it supposed to be an unlimited amount that you can bring? although they dont let you if they can stop you! , as previous answer, if questioned you have to prove that they are for personal use, I have heard of stories similar where people have had to prove that they are for their own personal use! It is a criminal offence to sell them on i believe, is it worth the risk?

Current cost in Spain for Marlboro, B&H, etc is 27/28 euros per 200.

3200 is admissable for "own use" without any questions being asked. "Own use" includes goods for self, and for gifts. Goods for resale, or for any payment,

i don't know if it is ok to reveal it, but i'm ordering from an online-store (it is not advertising: postal-cigs{dot}com), i receive 1 carton each 3 days, directly at my door... Of course i'm not smoking so much by myself, so i kinda doing some busines too :) (shame to me)... I think there is a possibility to purchase much more volume from them... Or you can simply make dropshipping...
