Baby On A Cruise Holiday

I am expecting a baby in June would still like a holiday next year. Would you bring a baby on a 7 day cruise? It would be 6 months, just asking.

I would find out how much room your cabin will have, will there be enough space for baby and all the gubbings that go with one?

Some ships do have creches and nannies.........let me know which cruise and we can avoid it.

Well I have seen lots of babies on my recent cruise. If the baby was crying all the time I wouldn't go myself, wouldn't be worth the cost.

Mike et al must love hassle...6 month old baby plus all the paraphernalia down to Southampton or even worse flying to Barcelona or Fort Everglades.......they must be mad.

I would say, reduce complex travel to the minimum. Babe don't care where you are. If it has stimulus and love it's as happy in the local park as the Bahamas. So why not go away together in the UK, get a cottage -even a UK hotel break would be cheaper than a cruise.

I’m absolutely with sqad on this.

Before you think about whether it is suitable for you and your young one I think you have to consider your fellow travellers wherever you are on holiday. On a cruise this is particularly pertinent bearing in mind the confined nature of your accommodation. The six month old child will get nothing from it (he or she won’t have a clue where you are). But your fellow travellers could be seriously put out especially (as is extremely likely) if your child becomes fractious due to its confinement.

I suppose that makes me a member of the “ Whingebags R Us” club. If so, that’s fine. Too many holiday destinations are completely obsessed with catering for children, often to the detriment of many other guests and in my view a cruise is no place for a six month old baby.

That reference was only a joke New Judge, honest. Surely serious cruise goers would go with the Cruise Lines that are not really suited to families with little ones.

In truth a cruise is my idea of a holiday from hell, but it takes all sorts.

What part of "I may have to amend some parts of my lifestyle to fit in with the 20+ year project of raising a child" is so bloody difficult for people to understand.

Have some consideration for the baby (which will hate having its routine disturbed by flights and boats) and the poor other sods who are trying to enjoy their own holiday without screaming infants around.
