Home again after my 5 day trip to Berlin. Wonderful city with some amazing architecture and some very poignant memorials. Walked for miles, ate wonderful food and travelled by rail, bus and underground. Transport system second to none so we were able to visit lots of Christmas markets for mulled wine, hot chestnuts etc etc. Will be back.

Did you go to the Jewish Museum?

I found the holocaust room to be really effective in conveying some deep, tragic sadness.

did you get to the Pergamon museum? They seem to have recreated half the ancient Greek towns from Turkey there, but it's been years since I was there and I believe they've refurbished it a lot recently so I don't know what it's like now.

Actually, they've probably rebuilt much of the city since I was last there.

I was there last year. It's a wonderful city, even if it's falling apart.
