What is there to do regarding activities, clubbing etc? I wanted to climb the volcano but i read that you have to get consent from someone and even then it's a long climb after the cable car. I also seen the submarine ride but there's something scary about being 30 metres underwater in a tin can. Is siam park worth going to or the zoo? Are there any interesting caves or anything eerie or mysterious to see?
I'll be staying near Apartamentos Oasis Mango in Los Cristianos

Hiya Henrietta, we went to Puerto de la Cruz on the north side of the island in December and it was lovely.
I would 1000% recommend a trip to Loro Parque - (the wildlife park) as it is fantastic! Particularly if you have kids as paths/ access & facilities are all well thought out. So well run, laid out and the animals are very spoilt, but if you can't face the drive from the south (just over 1hr) Siam Park is down near Los Cristianos and is run by the same company so I'd imagine it would be a well run water park. We were tempted to go to Siam park but it is on the other side of the island so maybe next time. Unfortunately the mountain rd was closed due to ice - but going up to the mountain/ volcano is top of the list for next time. So if you are there defo go.
Hope you have fun!
RELAX - that's what you need to do when you get there!
Hi Hennrietta. As Peaspeculiars has already mentioned Loro Park is a must - whales and dolphins performing

Watch he videos - then you will love the real thing.
Are you going as a 'young clubber' or do you have children in tow? There are a lot of clubs, especially in Playa las Americas which is right next door to Los Cristianos and if you have children you are in the real touristy area so quite a bit for them. When I went we took one of the many boat trips to go whale watching which was fun. We also hired a car and went North into the real Tenerife hilly country away from the tourist crowds, some great drives.

Wow thanks all for your responses after your posts i'd be crazy not to go!
How much is a cab from los cris to loro park?
Lol, maydup i do need to relax more but that will be at the salon/spa or beach/pool sunlounger after i'm all tired out.
Prudie i'm going with 3 friends, one's a mum with two toddlers and the other two aren't so we'll do kids stuff during the day and club all night! I never knew there were whales in tenerife, i thought whales were only found in cold places? Besides i'd be a bit wary about being in a small boat next to such a gigantic animal. Oh my god, are there sharks in tenerife? Is it safe to swim in the water???

They aren't particularly small boats or big whales :-). It's perfectly safe to swim at the beaches.
Sounds like you're going to have a whale of a time (groan).
Henriett - is it possible to hire a car? Your apartment is quite a way and mostly uphill from the beach at Los Cristianos!

And yes there are sharks in the waters around Tenerife - but a few miles out. From Los Cristianos harbour you can go on fishing trips - and you will often see sharks brought back.

That was actually quite funny prudie :)
I have to run now as i still have clothes to wash nails and hair to paint and dye and clothes to pack as well as insurance, phone bank etc.. Thanks everyone!
Hi,
We visited a couple of years ago and also stayed in Los Christianos. One of the days we took the Island Grand Tour which went around the whole island including a number of the best spots around Teide and the national park.
We also took a boat trip on a boat called "Jolly Roger" where we got to see dolphins swimming in their natural habitat.

Probably not sirprize as the more money we save the more money we can spend on the finer things :) Would love to go on a fishermans trip as i love to see all the exotic creatures they bring in but after watching the deadliest catch i'm a bit weary of fisher boats now. Thanks likithor i like the sound of that, how much was it? Ohh i have to run so will catch up with any answers left later as i'm out of lipstick and ladderless tights! AArghh! Bye all!
Don't stop if people approach you with scratch cards it's a con, I got conned out of £7.000
If you want to go up Mount Teidi best to check weather first. Cable car is liable to shut downs if wind speed to high. It is possible to go to summit after cable car highest point but you need permission gained from office at Santa Cruz. Everyone named on permit MUST show passports or ID If one fails everyone is denied.
