I keep hearing on the radio that office based staff have a 17 day holiday over Christmas this year. Has anyone here got 17 days off?

The most I got when I was working was 6 days not including the bank holidays.
I am retired now, but on Monday I have to report for jury service. So not sure what I will be doing.
I suppose if you're in one of those places that close right down over Xmas/New Year you'd be off from the 24th to the 8th inclusive, which is 16 days, but then the same is true of any two weeks.

I`d be as bored as hell if I had 17 days off over Christmas.

On that note, I`m off to bed as duty calls in the morning. Night night
Most offices in Ireland are closing 23rd and back Tues Jan 3rd, it's a short Christmas this year.
I don't know any office workers who have a long break over Christmas.
Dunno about office workers but I ( factory shop floor ) break up 21st Dec and return back to work 3rd of Jan, I suppose the office workers where I work will have the same.
I do and so do many of my colleagues but we are all taking it from our own leave except the holiday days
Well as long as everybody works extra hard when they get back in January it'll be alright, I'm sure.
I get 365 days off.

How do you cope with a Leap Year?
Have an extra day in bed!
I've taken a two week holiday, finished an hour and a half ago. Now looking forward to a sixteen day break
We never close...so 16 days off is just a dream.
I used to get 2 weeks off during Christmas break.
We got public holidays plus 3 company days and used to take a couple of days leave.
This year I finished working at end of September and will be taking a few years off and then retiring lol
When I worked with Tayside Regional Council the Community Centres closed on Christmas Eve and opened again on the 6th of January. Local Government reorganisation changed all that - no bad thing either!
Including bank holidays and unofficial holidays like New Years Day, which isn't actually a bank holiday, but people might not to expect people to turn up for work then, you could arrange your days off from your holiday allowance so you could get a full 17 days.
Christmas day and boxing day off but as I work in retail I don't mind keep me out of the pub!!!
New Year's Day IS a bank holiday, although it didn't used to be in England until the 70s.
