Tunisia
We are thinking of going to Tunisia on holiday in a couple of weeks. A lot of people have said its not safe to leave the hotel complex.
Is that right or is it safe to go out and about

I have spoken about my holiday to Tunisia before. It was one of the worse holidays I've had. It was the local men who spoil it, leering, grabbing at you and making suggestive comments.
We had a package and every night the hotel lounge was filled up with the local men. We were a party of 3 girls and we couldn't walk the streets or lay on the beach. We even had men trying to climb up to reach our balcony.
It got to a point, that we all ganged up with other holidaymakers and we went out in a group, everywhere. If you are blonde, it's even worse.
I must say the only good thing was the French food in the restaurants, delicious.
Been there. Not my cup of tea. Flys everywhere. Tummy bugs though we were seasoned travellers with strong constitutions. Kids begging for money everywhere. There is a bench outside our local Sainsbury dedicated to a lady who worked in the branch. She was gunned down with her husband whilst holidaying on the beach. No thanks. Some good sightseeing but never again. We did a two day coach tour from our complex and visited some cave dwelling arabs and a site where Star Wars was filmed. Stayed the night in a Oasis with a pool which was very welcome in the evening after travelling all day in a coach. The cabin accomodation was air conditioned which was welcome.
