Hi
As said in the first answer you can't buy the Tunisian Dinar in this country so take travellers cheques or sterling with you. Most of the hotels have money changing facilities at reception so it's not a problem to change your money as you go along and shouldn't get stuck with loads at the end of your holiday. Don't rely on you cards though as cash machines are few and far between and often don't get stocked up regularly.
i took cash with me and used the in-room safe as i hate travellers cheques but i appreciate that for safety reasons many people prefer to take travellers cheques. If you do take cheques make a note of the serial numbers and keep it (with the purchase receipt) seperate to the actual cheques. That way if you lose any you can phone American Express and get them replaced. Have a great time!

Just to add to the previous answers, the exhange rate and commission are both fixed nationally so there is virtually no variation between changing your sterling to Dinar at the airport, your hotel reception or a bank. I had heard that those at the airport raise their rates but it certainly wasn't the case when I was there.
