My partner and I are hoping to get away to Blackpool for a weekend in September. We were wondering if anyone could recommend a nice hotel. We are in our 30's and are looking for somewhere with good food and entertainment. Doesn't have to be luxurious but certainly a very pleasant place to be - spotless clean, good decor, warm personal welcome and good views with no hen or stag nights etc. I always think it's good to have somewhere personally recomended. Thanks in advance!

we were at blackpool a few weeks ago,we have stayed in quiet a few hotels and b and bs but this was the best by far its called the big blue hotel, the room was really nice the bed was massive, the breakfast was wonderful, help yourself, there was cereal, fruit, toast, all your fry up stuff, hash browns, muffins and yogurts, you could go up as many times as you wanted,it was great, people very friendly were going back again in a few weeks without the 3yr old this time.it was very clean no riff raf at all hope you enjoy it if you go as much as we did x
but your best to book online with the big blue!!

i liked the look of it and thought the cost (online was very good) but i went straight there and tried to book on the counter but it was very very expensive!!

i asked about the online price and they couldnt give me the same discount in person??....... but it did look nice!
we stayed for only two nights and yes we booked it on line you will have to pay 10% then when you get there pay the rest.from outside it doesnt look much but its well worth the money
Have a look on trip adviser for honest reviews of hotels etc

Hi we have stopped at the big blue hotel as well it is fab! we upgraded to a deluxe room got another 20 and had a view right next to the big dipper! If you get an online price and then phone them direct see if they will come down a bit or upgrade for cheaper we asked and they brought the price down no problem!
hi mizfiesta, the viking hotel is a good place to stay, it,s a nice hotel on the front and it has brilliant entertainment on, you can have a meal then watch the show, they have comedians, singers and dancers and then a disco till 2am. it's full of nice couples, not rowdy at all, hope you have a good weekend xx
have stayed at the viking too,its good for entertainment but the rooms and meals arent as nice as the big blue hotel no where near

Wow, can't decide between the Viking or The Big Blue now lol! Have looked at reviews of both - I must say what may swing it is the fact that the Viking is kids free and I'm managing to get away without my two teenagers that weekend - relief! What you all think? Any more feedback would be much apprieciated.
if you want to go where theres no kids then go to the viking it is a nice place and like you said child free ha ha enjoy where ever you go im sure you and your partner will have a nice time
