Nice country drive

I have a 4x4 and want to go for a drive out with my partner in the lancashire area, is there any good routes for a sunday day out. TIA

Do you mean you want to go off road or on the public highways? If you mean public roads then the Trough of Bowland is a great drive, lovely scenery, twisty roads and all that. Wouldn't recommend going tomorrow though, we're on the edge of the forest of bowland and quite a few of the minor roads are flooded, I should imagine it's the same (if not worse) in the trough.
Agree with spudqueen the trough is really lovely. I like it near Stonyhurst college as well not sure if that is classed as Bowland. The moors near Belmont are nice as well
get on the m6 heading north and just keep going. 4x4's are a pain in the behind and should be banned in towns and cities
