Hey, I Think You Should Get An Upstanding Member Of The Community To Sign It For You. Maybe An Ex-Teacher Or Headmaster Or Doctor Or Bank Manager. Any One Of These People Should Be Able To Help.

Do You Know Anyone In A Trusted Position Like A Policeman Or A Lawyer? But Yes, The Passport Form Should Give You Some More Ideas Like 4getmenot Said.

It does, in the instructions - I think a Justice of the Peace also qualifies.

For a renewal you only need to have a photo validated if you've changed so much since the last issue that you're unrecognisable as the same person. It's all in the notes and on the passport service's website.

The local shopkeepers, suggested by Rtaxron, do not qualify as suitable countersignatories. The only exceptions might be your local postmaster or pharmacist (unless, of course, the shopkeeper is otherwise qualified, perhaps because he runs the shop as a limited company, of which he is a director). If the '92' in your username is the year of your both, then a teacher would be the most obvious person. (When I was in teaching, I signed dozens of passport photos).

If you're older (or you just happen to know your local publican anyway), anyone who holds a 'personal licence' can sign.

The Vicar of your local church is an acceptable person authorised to sign your application, and, normally he/she doesn't charge for the service. Most other professions do apply a charge.
