When on holiday me and my mates made friends with a lot of people in villas nearby. Anyway everyday there was the same families in pool and one family had two girls and a boy about 7 years old. The girls would be in bikinis and the boy in swimming trunks. Anyway halfway through the hols a boy out of the family we'd made friends with said that's not a boy it's a girl. I said 'no it cant be why would the sisters be in bikinis and she isnt' So I got him to ask him/her his/her name and he came back and said Jordan so we were non the wiser, most of the week we argued whether it was a girl or boy, then one night we thought we'd ask the Rep so we called her over and asked 'you know Jordan�' and before we could even finish she said yep she's a girl. She'd been told by her mum when she kept calling her he. I just wonder why any mother would single one daughter out and buy her boy clothes, it wasnt just swim shorts at night she would be dressed in shirt and trousers, had a boy haircut too.

Awww,poor kid.How could anyone do that to a kid.They don't have to dress her in frilly pink girly stuff but to dress her like a boy is just wrong!

chico they have an older brother so it wasnt that she didnt have a boy. Was quite funny when the youngest boy of the family we were mates with found out and cried 'I;ve been hanging out with a girl!!'

I can understand girls being tom boys and having girly trousers or jeans but you would in no way believe this was a girl. Looked exactly like a boy was quite chubby too with mobs, well I guess with boobs. Oh it was so confusing and when she came over to villa with other boy you�re find it really hard not to say �has he eaten? or wheres his mum?� My friend got drunk one night and opened her mouth �sat down next to her and said �darling you�ve got such a pretty face, why do you dress in all these boy clothes� It was horrible as the girl backed away to the door and then said �because I want to be like my mum� to which my other mate butted in and said �that�s right coz your mums the best mum in the world�

BOO about 7 it wasnt just a tomboy thing BOO, she was wearing long boy trunks and looked like a boy. The mum was a bit butch but if my child wanted to dress like that I;d say 'not till you buy your own clothes'

My son likes to wear makeup and his sisters dresses. When he was little he wouldn't leave the house unless he had clothes pegs in his hair!!! I just let him get on with it. He acts a lot more boyish now but I think that's just peer pressure. A few years ago if you asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he'd always 'A woman'

No I havent which is why I said I wonder why any mother would do that. I was asking people opinions I dont think me not having kids has anything to do with me wondering why she would dress others in bikinis and her like that

Kids are by and large just downright weird! If that were my child, whilst I wouldn't be happy that she wanted to dress like a boy I think at 7 you have to more or less bow down to how they want to dress, and if wearing boy clothes pleases her, grin and bear it.

I'm willing to bet it's just a phase, and before you know it she'll be a girly girl and fretting about boys...then your problems REALLY start!

perhaps the mum just finds it easier for the child to wear what she likes to an extent.
If it was a baby then yes Id be concerned that the mother was pushing her own wants (for another boy perhaps) onto the child. But crikey, even little CRX at 3 knows that dollys are for girls (he told me, not the other way around) so a 7 year old will definately know whether she wants boys or girls clothes.
I would hope that once she gets a little older that the mother covers her top up a bit though.

I cant imagine her being a girly girl at all, as she just looks like a boy. I'm not saying its wrong at all, I think she should have been a boy from the looks and everything maybe when she's older she might have a sex change
