surfing in costa rica

In Jan. of 05 I am heading to Tamarindo, Costa Rica for a surf trip. I was wondering where are so cheap places to rent on a monthly basis? I would like to stay close to the beach.

January is high season so there won't be anything too cheap.  I've stayed in Playa Junquillal and there are cheap cabins on the beach there but they do get invaded by hermit crabs and scorpions.  Have you looked at Lonely Planet?  Tamarindo is a bit more glitzy than many of the beaches along that coast so probably won't be the cheapest.  I do envy you, hearing of your trip has made me want to return.  Enjoy your trip
