I have just booked a last minute holiday, am flying on Tuesday, I have travel insurance but I forgot about the EHIC card, so I applied online yesterday but I have heard that it takes 7 days to arrive.
What I want to know is if the card does not arrive before I go I am still covered by it if I have a reference number?

the EHIC only allows you the state covered medical help available in that country. Your travel insurance will be a better bet.

but regardless of that fact, it doesnt cover Tunisia.

You do need it with you to claim on it but your travel insurance is likely to cover you anyway. Which country are you travelling to?
