Why Cant Every One Just Be Nice?
25 Answers
I don't get it, why do some people have to act such jerks? even when it's not effecting them in the slightest. I feel so happy when I come on here to ask a question as I know I'm going to have a positive encounter with someone who cares and wants to help. but when you steep out into the real world it's just not like this :-( its so sad

I'm not saying that I think everyone is, just a lot of people. The nicest people I've met in real life are fellow dog walkers, and the people that help me with the questions I post on here about doing up my house. I have become a lot more withdrawn from society in the last year or so because of this, but I don't feel sad about it or feel that I'm losing out that much. In fact I think I'm happier now I spend more time with my little pup and less time with people

I don't get out much, due to CFS. Exercise is supposed to make it better so dogwalkers and fellow-birdwatchers are about as much face-to-face conversation as I can get, outside close family members.
Online conversation suits me well, as you can pick it up or put it down as you please without impacting the other person. Outdoors, you can see when someone would rather stare into their phone than talk to you, which - I imagine - is misery-making.
