How'd this one happen? Accepting Ian Hudspeth's version of the figures suggests that Cameron has an awfully inaccurate understanding of how his policies are actually working. This is, to say the least, not very impressive.

Cuts? On another thread today, presumably left wing, people thought that Cottaging Officers and Breastfeeding Coordinators were a perfectly fine way for councils to spend money.
If they didn't close the odd library, I'm at a loss to think where they could save money.

Not really sure what TTT's point is, unless it's that "well our man may be totally crap but at least he's not even crapper" -- which doesn't really provide much comfort as that still leaves us with crap in charge!
Also svejk, what letters? If you mean the comments underneath the Oxford article, I've not read them no. But that would still leave us with a letter written (or, more likely, read and signed) by Cameron that is filled with mistakes, or worse. Coming from the Prime Minister, or from his office, it does not bode well when the lawmakers don't appear to appreciate the full consequences of their laws and decisions.
