Although even after these discoveries there are some who continue to pass it off as innocent.

/// Erik Haugland, head of Norway’s asylum programme pointed out that it was possible the images were on the phones for innocent reasons. ///

/// He explained that asylum-seekers might have the photographs in order to bear witness to the war and horrors they were fleeing in their home country, or they may have been a tactic to sneak through jihadi-controlled areas unharmed. ///

The idea of the News section is that people debate their position and argue if they don't agree.

Simply quoting me, and then insulting me doesn't really add to that format does it?

If you disagree, by all means say so, but be willing to back up your statement, not simply tack on a silly insult.

He may have gone on to say that, unlike in soft, lily-livered countries the news sanitises scenes of death and destruction while for those from further afield regard such images as normal. It's a cultural thing, a bit like loincloth wearing natives keeping shunken heads about their person.
Nothing to see here, please leave room for us to bend over backwards in accomodating savagery in our prospective citizens.
Would a terrorist posing as a refugee not try to cover his tracks and make sure there was no material stored on his phone which might betray his sympathies?
… or would an innocent man delete the images for fear of being branded a terrorist?
