Do Robins leave their hatching and not yet hatched chicks alone at night? We have 3 eggs yet to hatch and one egg that hatched today. Parents are very diligent during day, 2nd night mother has left nest at night, but does return in a.m. Will new chick get too cold (50s tonight)? Should I put a warming blanket under flower pot nest is built in (on our patio)?

In situations like this it is always best to let nature take its course. Any interference might lead the adults to abandon the nest. It may seem cruel, but nature regulates itself. i am not an authority on this, but this is probably normal behaviour. Or perhaps the adults find the surrounding area too busy during the day?
