could anyone let me know how i can apply for the queens golden jubilee medal 1952-2002 i am a retired police officer. many thanks

Like yourself I am a retired Police Officer and believed I was entitled to a Golden Jubilee Medal and because of this I wrote to my MP William Hague. He passed my letter on to the appropriate department and the Minister in Charge answered stating that retired Police Officers were not entitled to a medal. They would only go to serving Police Officers with over 5 years service. I believe this is unfair having served 30 years during the Queens Reign. Maybe your MP could check it out and he might have more luck since the recent Ministeral Shuffle.
