also do you need to take your old certificate with you?

Just take your car to a decent garage... there shouldnt be too much differance between garages, except for the price of labour. im in West Brom, but cant recommend anyone in Wolves. sorry...

only need to take old certificate if there is more than a month left on it. that way they should date your new certificate from the expiery date on your old one. this would give you 13 months mot instead of the usual 12.

With the new computorised MOTs it is hard for a garage to "Rip you off"!

If a garage is doing this by finding non existant faults that are easy to repair but expensive the DVLA computer will pick them up and inspectors will descend on the garage like a ton of bricks.

So the DVLA is on the motorist's side for once!

maybe its cause i took my car to be fixed somewhere 5 years ago and got ripped off it was still broken so i took it back to the garage because i was not happy and they manager told me what the problem was and i needed new part to which i replied thats what i was told 3 days ago and youve fitted a new part or so i thought. so can you blame me for being so suspisious
