Ebay, Anyone Had This?

I bought an item and proceeded to pay with Paypal, sadly Ebay said that Paypal was unavailable it the time but offered me the chance to pay by credit card. I paid by CC and it said the transaction was complete but the seller says they have not received it and Ebay is still saying I need to pay so now I don't know what to do. Help!

Check that money has left your account.If it has then bank should be able to say who it was paid to.

If the payment does not yet show in your credit card (online) statement then I believe you have the following option: Contact your card provider and have them confirm the transaction is nowhere to be seen in their system. On that confirmation explain the story to them and ask them to block the transaction from going through if it turns up because you are going to make a repeat payment. You can then either pay by PayPal (possibly the best option) or any other means, including by credit card. Note that unless the card provider agrees to block the payment you risk it turning up at a (delayed) later date - if you have then already paid again separately you would have to try to claw back the duplicate payment which would be difficult through PayPal. Also, a card payment through a third party (eBay) like this can take a week or more to show on your account/statement. Good luck.
