/// Manchester University Diversity Officer Ilyas Nagdee posted: 'Stupid decision by @gmpolice to decide attackers should be seen as Muslim. Maybe that's why Islamophobias gone up 300% in the UK.' ///

Pleased to note however that they took the health and safety of the victims very seriously, noticing the eye protection glasses.

Peter - //andie - you arent obliged to give confidential details unless you wish to

uppers are amphetamines -
and havent been used in psych for around 50 y

so anyone reading retro's script would be aware it was written from the usual point of ignorance. //

I have offered advice and support about mental illness and treatment when I have thought it helpful - I am not ashamed of my condition, and I do not think it is something to make fun of when I am losing a debate.
Ya know Andy, I respect the fact you feel the need to defend yourself, as im sure most of us would, however at some point I really think you have to think "ya know what- *** it, think what you want, i know what I know and im out of this one" Think that moment for you was several pages back on this thread. Is that fair on you? No probably not, but for the sake of the OP I think it has to be done.

With reference to the post, I don't believe there was any need to apologise.
The risk of terrorist attacks IS from Muslims so the exercise was simply being realistic.

I abhor it when someone is attacked for having a different view to the majority.
This post has become a ganging up on Andy Hughes and those of you who have attacked him should hand your heads in shame
BOO - I do take your point - I am known as someone who will not let an argument go un-won, some think it means I must have the last word.

I did resolve to try and stop contributing to this thread's path well off-track, but I fell justified in responding to retrocop's disgraceful personal attack on my condition, and his inference that he is more of a 'man' than me because of it.

I will robustly debate with anyone anywhere, and give as good as I get, but that was not within the bounds of debate, or even common courtesy - I hope the thread is not pulled so that retrocop remains exposed for what he is - a nasty bully.

Thank you for your support - much appreciated.
Peter - // ... and I do not think it is something to make fun of when I am losing a debate. //

Sorry - I meant - when someone else is losing a debate!!

yeah that slip did make me sit up and think
I am known as someone who will not let an argument go un-won,

True, most people would recognise that there is a problem with that admission.

I did say that I am known as someone who will not let an argument go un-won - but I did not say that this is my position in debate, and that I agree with that viewpoint.

It's not - and I don't.
Word.
Damn dyslexic keyboard.....my post should have read hang their heads in shame.

Andy, I don't agree with your view on this post but I will defend to the death the right of anyone to have their own opinion.
mrs_overall //Andy, I don't agree with your view on this post but I will defend to the death the right of anyone to have their own opinion. //

Thank you again.

I am perfectly willing to accept any and all views across the spectrum from agreement to total opposition, and enjoy exchanging opinions, which have changed my original views many times over the years.

But to use an illness to attack someone is beneath contempt, and is the default position of one protagonist who appears not to learn the lessons of adult behaviour, even when advanced to him through the medium of suspension.

Never mind - thousands more AB'ers with whom I enjoy exchanges, I shall not miss this one.Andy, I don't agree with your view on this post but I will defend to the death the right of anyone to have their own opinion.
Word.
