Does anyone have Virgin on here, are they satisfied with the broadband speeds they get and customer service. I have heard varied reports about them, some of which are awful. I have just had a quote from my current provider BT for renewal which includes basic BT TV, broadband and phone lines with free weekend calls of €49.00. I do not need my phone line as hardly ever use it, use mobile instead. If I went with Virgin for broadband only on their super fast fibre 50 it would be £35.00. Never had any problems with BT apart from their Indian call centre giving me a contract I did not want which was eventually sorted out, but these landline rental costs just go up and up. Thanks for your time.
I have VM broadband and phone. I have the 100 MB and it delivers. Min speed I have ever got is 95 max is 110 (download). VM are using fibre to the green box and I live 2 houses down from the box. The modem seems to handle everything, mine is feeding into 2 switch boxes and a UB WiFi at the top of the house (I live in a 3 stoey old house that WiFi does not travel too well through)
I had the phone because for some reason phone + Broadband was cheaper than just Broadband otherwise I would not have used it. Useful for 0800 conference calls though!
We no longer have the TV package as it became too expensive. I installed a sat dish and now use free sat and Amazon Prime. Nore than enough TV and a darned sight cheaper.
VM help desk has always been excellent on the few issues we had.
I find that most of the TVs these days is not worth watching and tend to watch the programmes I want to watch on catchup on my large iPad Pro, as I no longer have a pc or iMac in the house now. Also sometimes watch a film on Netflix, that is it really. No complaints about my speeds with BT just that it seems daft to carry on with them if I can get cheaper elsewhere. A friend of mine has done exactly the same as youngmafbog, finding it cheaper to keep his phone line.
