I cannot get online using my laptop, although as you can see, using the iPad, internet is fine, so the fault is laptop based father than internet based. Earlier today, everything was fine, but now it's not working. I have used Windows Network Diagnostics to troubleshoot, with this result "Wi-Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration". I do have a service contract with PC World, but when I discovered no internet, their lines were closed until the morning. Any advice please?
I wasn't joking, Mr-H. He gives the most brilliant answers on AB on all sorts of topics, but particularly on computer stuff, and nearly always with useful links. He deserves a medal!
Just spoken to Knowhow (PCWorld's help line). They got me to 'restart', rather than switching off and on. This worked straight away, and immediately I was back on line. For info. the guy I spoke to said that this does appear to be getting more frequent with Windows10 users. Thanks for the help and advice, but it seems to have been resolved.
Yeah, thanks for the advice. TBH I looked at your possible solution, but I think I might have needed to call family for assistance in setting to work! Thanks again.
