I did watch SS GB though and found it a bit confusing as most of these things are when they're setting the scene and introducing the characters. I'll give it another try next week but I can't say I was hooked.
SS-GB is dreadful. Mumblimg actors and poor lighting. Heard some viewers had to switch on subtitles it that bad. Plus wrong Spitfire used. It was a MKIX not yet made at time set in drama. It also had Polish markings. Won't be watching it again.
Hi Caribeing,
I'm up to where the detective ran through the street to catch up with a lady in a pink coat. It didn't really hold my attention, I'll go back to it though to see if it gets better. I thought it an interesting idea.
I thought it was quite good .It's just alternative history.Have to say it was mumbly and had to use the subtitles. I find myself doing that a lot lately and I'm sure I'm not hard of hearing.
I have read the book Mikey ,nearly forty years ago ! Len Deighton writes a good yarn and I've read quite a few of his books.I love a spy novel and his Game Set and Match trilogy was very good.
Mikey444 I read the book when it first came out, probably in the house somewhere, I was a huge Deighton fan. As for the adaptation, like many programmes the background music etc was too loud hence making it hard to hear properly.
I didn't like Strictly from day one. When people have worked so hard all week to have their work so rudely criticised. Didn't like Bake Off either. I know I'm different!
Regarding mumbling. I have the subtitles on permanently nowadays and don't have any problems, except when it's a live programme and then they can be hilarious.
