after making love dont rush to the loo or anything but lie still for half an hour it gives the sperm more chance to latch on to the egg apparently.

I wouldn't worry about positions..as long as the sperm can swim you should be ok with any position!

Mind you, I have always gone to the loo afterwards and still managed to get pregnant so maybe I am not the right person to ask ;o) there is always going to be 'leakage' but remember there are so many millions of sperm and you only need the one.

Have you been trying for a long time? if so, there are lots of different things you can try such as laying down with your pillows under your bum, missionary position, headstands..

no havent been trying for long.
i was having the injection for a while but came off it in october 05 i know that could delay it for a bit but just preparing because i feel im ready for a baby now!!!
I have been trying not to go to the toilet after but it feels so horrible when it all leaks out down my leg!!!!!

I wouldn't worry so much at the moment ~ stay in bed and put a towel underneath your bum, then it won't feel so icky ;o)

A lot of sperm would have already gone up there and started to try and do their work, the leakage shouldn't matter.

As you have stopped the injection it may take a while..have you thought about ovulation preditor kits?

no havent really thought about trying that where can i get one of those?chemist? do you know how much?
kinda wishing i never had the injection all it ever done for me was made me put on weight made me very moody and now im ready to have a baby (perfect partner, good jobs, nice house) its probably the main reason for it not happening, its so frustrating!! :(

Hello There, I'm gonna be trying next month for baby No 2 and I'm SSOOOOOOOOOO excited about it and just want to be involved in all baby talk:-)

What I'd advise, like previous posts, lie back on the bed with your legs in the air for about 5 mins. (did you ever see the episode of Friends where Phoebe was trying to concieve and she gave gravity a helping hand) similar to that. Then lie with a pillow under your bum, and after half hour, go sit in a lovely warm bath or, and I know it sounds yucky, make love in bed that evening and after doing the above tips, just go to sleep and have the bath in the morning.

I have never used the predictor kits as I have always known when I was ovulating, and I haven't been on the injection either..

Yes, you buy the kits from the chemist (I think they are about the same cost as a pregnancy test, maybe a bit more).

Are your periods regular?

i'll try that later!!! my boyfriend will be like what the hell are you doing!!! just read something else saying when you put your legs in the air pretend you are riding a bike!! god the things we will do aye!!! is there a certain part of the day that could increase chances? x

If I were you I would just do it as much as you can or want..there are some who advocate abstaining until ovulation time, but I wouldn't.

It's good practice, and besides, when you do get pregnant you may go off it for a while so you may as well do it while you can!

they wasnt regular when i first came of the injection id have one at the beginning of the month then off for 2 days and back on for the rest of the month very very annoying! but since about febuary they have been coming at about the same time so maybe that could be a sign that its nearly out of my system??

Hi sam,

yes it does sound like you could be back on track ~ this means that you have only been regular for around 4 months which is still a short time.

I have heard that it is regarded as 'normal' for a fertile couple to try for at least 12 months before investigations may be needed. This probably isn't helpful to you, but with any luck you should be out buying those bootees in the not too distant future :o)

Well....Me and my wife just had a baby 9 months ago and now she's 5 months pregnant again, the best position is the missionary position and I found that abstaining from sex for a couple of weeks ( untill the urge is absolutley uncontollable ) works..it must have or she wouldn't have fell pregnant after just a few months ;)
