male neighbour a few doors away
he is worried 70 years old irish
because when brit leave the eu he is worried willhe have to apply
for a brit passport to stay in uk
thank u
he has sufficient right s to stay under current legislation
Nothing as you know from Brexit is fixed but if the current 'plan' is put into effect ( do you not believe the word of a prime minister?).
if the great roll back of european interference ( erm such as guaranteeing right of abode to EU nationals) takes place - then the legislation put into effect in 1922 will still be there
And incredibly the Irish in 1922 got a good deal - such as free movement - freedom to take wor in England - ( er freedom to pay UK taxes still hur hur hur) - free to enlist - 186 000 Irish fought for King George - and freedom of residence
Now..... ask one question and get three answers....
Your fren' has a right to a Brit passport IF he wants. At his age he will be much less " an' Eamonn de Valera DIED for Orisih Freedom (even do he was Spanish)" and much more 'where is my English ( a nation of morderers if ever dere was one) pension for which I have paid?' - this is because his parents ( it is virtually unavoidable) were born within the United Kingdom as was before 1922. And his grandparents too
third answer: as for return of independence to the South in 1922
So the Oirish were free before 1801 were they ? or do we have to go back to 1066 ?
The South of course was never a country so couldnt exactly be free whenever. This is notwithstanding the glorious treaty of freedom and return of independence to the South ( aka the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1922) was concluded with a body that didnt exist ( House of Commons in Dublin aka First Dail about whose legality they are STILL quarelling) of a country that didnt exist ( Southern Ireland).
But this is Oirish History for you ( almost as many alternative facts as a Trump interview)
