Baby Dating Scan

I'm due to have my dating scan in a couple of weeks and want to finally be able to tell everyone the good news after that, if all goes ok. What I want to know though is, as I'm an older mum (40!) I've got to have all the screening for Downs etc. Do you get the results of these tests on the day of the scan or is there more waiting before I can tell everyone?

I am 40 and 13 weeks pregnant. You do not HAVE to be screened. I declined.

The Ultrasound although helpful, may not give your the answers st to the likelihood of Downs.
Blood tests are diagnostic but you will have to wait for the results however........7-14 days.
