. . . for you if you're bored:

I'm pleased to report that I scored 6 out of 6 on the 'Liverpool or Rome?' one
https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/quizzes/liverpool-or-rome-quiz
but, given that it's designed for kids, that's probably not much to be proud about!

I only managed 10 out of 20 on the 'England' one, from Radio 4, though:

Can you do better?

I may go into Politics all the same.

I'm reminded of this quote, Mamya:
"You have all the characteristics of a popular politician: a horrible voice, bad breeding, and a vulgar manner"

Source:
'Knights' by Aristophanes, 424 BC

Nothing much changes, does it?

;-)
10/20 in the England quiz. Not bad for a Scot - good guessing anyway.

All the best people score 10, Maggie ;-)
//'Knights' by Aristophanes, 424 BC//

You surprise me, Buenchico. Never read it and don't even know the plot.

If it was satirical (given the year) a reference to Cleon perhaps.
I think my set book was 'Οι Βατραχοι.
Question Author
Aristophanes certainly wasn't a fan of Cleon!

'The Frogs' is possibly the most-studied of Aristophanes' works but 'The Birds' is probably the most-performed of his plays. (It seems to be popular with the more adventurous am-dram groups).
6/6 & 16/20 - 2 of the 16 were guesses though.

Ruddy 'eck, LiK!

Crosswords?

Quizzes?

Is there anything that you're not good at?

;-)
Oh, many things! ;-)
//Aristophanes certainly wasn't a fan of Cleon!//

Nobody was suggesting he was, Buenchico.

Reddit, Mamya?

I'm trying to remember the chorus line which was something like kekkakoexkoakkoax - more y, croaky and froglike than reddit.

Still "reddit" deserves a beta plus.
I'm already on those for my knees.
//Brekekekex, ko-ax, ko-ax,
Brekekekex, ko-ax, ko-ax!
We children of the fountain and the lake
Let us wake
Our full choir-shout, as the flutes are ringing out,
Our symphony of clear-voiced song.
The song we used to love in the Marshland up above,
In praise of Dionysus to produce,
Of Nysaean Dionysus, son of Zeus,
When the revel-tipsy throng, all crapulous and gay,
To our precinct reeled along on the holy Pitcher day,
Brekekekex, ko-ax, ko-ax. //
I approve your research skills, Mamya. I like the translation (which is clearly 19th century). Who's it by?
Question Author
That translation is by Benjamin Bickley Rogers (1828 - 1919), first published in 1902.
Thanks, Buenchico. I've never heard of Mr Rogers until this moment.
