They don’t need drugs or alcohol, just a perceived grievance because ‘their’ team has lost.
She’s there, I’ll take it out on her because I’m really *** off.
Any others of you been there?

if only there was no football there would be no domestic violence
I think talbot has a very valid point. Wonder how those wife abusers north of the border will react if we actually win the World Cup. Wonder if there's a poster up in Scotland with a similar image but different message. "If England win, she doesn't."
Don't think it's effective at all in that it won't affect those who'd do it anyway. It won't make thumpers stop and think.
Of course it won't Prudie. A poster is not going to give an abuser self control.

I think it would be very rare if a man who has never hit his wife/GF suddenly done it because England lost. They'd have to be an abuser in the first place.
What a stupid comment Ken4155 - we know we are not in the world cup - we know DV exists the world over - we know that 9 times our of 10 it has nothing to do with football. If the poster makes one person (male or female) think again then it will have served its purpose.
Wasn't a stupid comment, maggiebee, though perhaps not very well expressed. The poster appeared to be singling English fans out when, if football had such an impact on domestic violence, where are the posters ahead of an 'Old Firm' derby, a Manchester derby, a Merseyside derby, Burnley v Blackburn? Domestic violence is worldwide and alcohol plays much more of a role than any sport.
