Tearaway doesn't go far enough to describe such nasty behaviour. What sorts of attitudes at home are influencing these young people?

I'm sure we live in slightly more civilized society than say 3-400 years ago. But this behaviour and the accompanying attitude towards a disabled person harks back to those times.

I wondered about the eggs and flour and thought perhaps the lady had been shopping herself and they took them off her. Disgraceful behaviour by both kids and parents, except the one who marched his son straight down to the police station.

If local community’s banded together and organise patrols of know trouble areas all carrying stout walking sticks to assist in walking. Then perhaps the message might get across. Not in our back yard. If the police won’t police then your options are limited. You could always try and ask the yobs nicely to behave....

I wondered about that, LB...if they bought the eggs and flour they went searching with the intention of finding someone who couldn't fight back....
We had a spate of throwing eggs at cars in the area I last lived in. The police refused to come even when the kids were hiding behind a wall doing it as they were being reported....an easy catch with the station two or three minutes away...
The local shops refused to sell eggs to youngsters in an attempt to stop it...x
