Night Cramps
20 Answers
Following my last foray into this much discussed subject when I said I was trying a daily Magnesium tablet (250 mg from Holland & Barrett), I’m delighted to report that in the many months I’ve been taking them I’ve not experienced a single episode of painful night cramps in my calf muscles and feet. Just thought I’d post that in the hope of helping fellow sufferers.

I'll try those Naomi, thanks.
Woofgang, if you see this will you tell me about the bursting blood vessels please. The reason I ask is that for some time, in my fingers, I sometimes get a sudden very hot sensation at a certain spot which then turns deep purple, stays hot and hurts. Happens 2-3 times a month. No idea what it is and what causes it. Is that what you are talking about?

quizproquo, that’s part of the problem....it seems that there is NOTHING to sort out....no circulatory problems, no underlying disease, no genetic component, nothing. So far as Achenbachs goes, it seems that you are more likely to get it if you are female and over 50 but that’s all and its not limited to females or over 50’s. Its doesn’t lead to anything, it doesn’t seem to be a risk factor for anything, its just something that seems to happen to some people....that’s why I posted the forum comments as well as the medical link.
