Ultrasound Of The Groin

Following a hernia repair in April I suffered a great deal of pain and swelling in the groin. After visiting my GP several times I was sent for an ultrasound. Have just received the result from my GP
i.e

Ultrasound of the left testicle showed it to be small with a heterogeneous echo pattern. It appears totally avascular on colour Doppler. I suspect there has been infarction of the testicular artery probably at the time of the hernia repair.

The hospital has issued no advice on what now and the GP has suggested that as the pain has now eased and the swelling is reducing we should wait and see.
Anyone had a similar problem and what was the outcome

No never had this problem, BUT from that report it is no big deal. The left testicular artery has been damaged at the operation of repair of your hernia......providing of course that it was a left hernia repair. You now have only one testicle which should do the trick adequately. No further treatment is necessary at this stage or ever likely to be needed.

I had expected it to be quite uncomfortable considering the area being scanned but it turned out not to be the case they were very considerate
Thanks for the feedback I would be interested in the report.
