//A family have been filmed hacking up animal carcasses in their back yard in Dagenham. It is not known if the family — celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice — slaughtered the animals at home or were simply butchering them. Sun columnist Anila Baig said Muslim families traditionally sacrifice a goat or sheep and divide it into portions for Eid al-Adha. But she added: “In this day and age, it’s extremely unusual for someone to do this themselves at home.//

Whether or not this family slaughtered the animals themselves, someone did. Animal sacrifice in 21st century Britain. Oh the joys of multi-culturalism!

Keyplus, thank you for posting confirmation of animal sacrifice in this country in the 21st century. If feeding the hungry were the purpose, food can be obtained (from Sainsbury’s or elsewhere) at any time of the year without the requirement for ritual. This isn’t about feeding the hungry – it’s about the feeders fervently hoping that Allah is ticking his check list of their personal achievements.

Whilst it may well happen in this country, I can't see any such confirmation in there, Naomi. Can you point out where I missed it please.

My pleasure. //During Eid Muslims sacrifice them [animals] ....//
Fail. Doesn't say in this country. Maybe you mistakenly think it means all muslims do it
To be balanced though, I also doubt the bit in the link that claims McDonalds, KFC, Burger King etc kill 1 billion animals a day to feed the rich.
Question Author
Right. That’ll be in downtown Karachi then. Better tell Keyplus, a Muslim who’s given the link in response to the OP.
Ha. Blame the messenger not your own false claim. Right-o.

Not even a nice try, FF. :o)
When I worked in Saudi in the early 80s we caught some of our Saudi fire crew slaughtering a goat in the back of one of the ambulances at the fire station. When we had a go at them they didn't seem to think they were doing anthing wrong. This to was for Eid. We did get them to put a stop to the practice afterwards and they went to the other side of the airport to do it at other times.
