Tried searching for a post on this but nothing came up (unless I haven't searched properly or its been removed from AB as well and this thread will disappear too)!

This advert has been banned for being too political and having Greenpeace involvement.

I think Iceland are just highlighting the fact that they're removing palm oil from their own brand foods for the reasons in their video.

Anyway, it brought a tear to my eye. What do you think?

Excellent ad - a friend sent me the Greenpeace petition yesterday which I signed. I'm unsure if AB would be happy hosting the link to it, so I shan't post it here, but it isn't difficult to find if anyone wants to.
Well done Iceland!
I can't honestly see why they had to ban it!
It's a lovely advert, and I don't think it should have been banned. But it's a bit crappy for a Christmas ad, though.
Lots of info on the Net. Banning it may have ensured it complied with rules, but it's gained more views on the Net now than a TV showing would have achieved.

I don't see it as a backfire at all. It was banned because of rules, not a desire to censor.

Good luck protecting the rainforest.
Can't see why links here can't be posted. It's just a TV ad ruling, not international law.
Mums go to Iceland . :-)
It's on the news now!!

Well done Iceland.
brilliant ad, and a powerful message
I'm just watching an article on TV about this.
Having spent some time in the nasty world of advertising I am sure this was a deliberate act to ensure both the marketing and environmental message got to a world wide rather than UK audience. Viral internet content spreads faster than almost anything. Costs nothing and rather than being passively observed gets people talking, sharing, and involved.

Good work
Excellent.
I like it. By being banned it's got far more attention than it would normally have got so keep banning!
I have no problem with the message at all.

However politics must be kept out of advertising.
How very annoying that this ad has been banned - grrrrrrr !!
