Well I posted on another thread at 9.30 saying I'd give the storm 30 minutes to start in Middlesbrough. It's cooled down, but still no storm, it's been boiling and clammy all day.
Rufio I work in a post office and the office is glass, we were so hot sweat was pouring off us. I came home with a crashing head ache from the heat. So please send us your storm down here in the south as it's going to be hotter tomorrow!
Was in South Wales yesterday - big thunderstorm overnight and the power went off for most of it. Rufio - it is "heat waves" that tend to generate thundestorms - especially in maritime climates - so the two are not unconnected.
It is the humidity that makes the heat so uncomfortable. I think Kingsway would agree. I also worked i Algeria and founfd the time spent in Oran more uncomfortable than that spent in the interior.
Make the most of it , the grass will recover, you will absorb some welcome Vitamin D .
