//"If you are so confident in your deal, call that election, and let the people decide." says Mr Corbyn

he then goes on to say "a new government would have a fresh mandate to negotiate a better withdrawal deal with the EU".
so what exactly would labour's campaign strategy be in an early GE scenario - leave? stay? renegotiate leave? it could be argued that as the opposition they're not required to say - but they could need to concoct a policy faster than the PM needs to rustle up a plan B....

What fantasy land does Corbyn inhabit where he thinks he can persuade the EU to do a better deal? Maybe he's going to ride into Brussles on a Unicorn?
Jesus, I hope the general electorate can see through this Marxist fool's rhetoric.

Typical opposition call, in the full realisation that no one in the position would be persuaded to call an election as May did last time.
Any new government would have no fresh mandate to negotiate a better withdrawal deal with the EU since time has already run out. They would have a mandate to get us out on the due date and then reopen trade negotiations, if the EU elite were prepared to do so. Or better, spend their time negotiating with the non-EU countries instead.

//Krom, time and time again the government have said that this will not happen. You are flogging a dead horse//
Right. But in this thread we're talking about a hypothetical circumstance in which Labour managed to get into power.
Also: the scenario I described is not one I am eager to see in any case. Calm down.

OK. Apologies if it came across uncivil, was just frustrated. Probably should have deleted those last two words.
In any case, the original observation (that re-negotiating would presumably require cancelling A50 and then re-activating it later) was intended to highlight how ridiculous Labour's proposal is.
