The police must have throught they'd heard it all - until this one came up. Allegedly an octopus in the road, 5km from any water.

Oh I read that with a smile today, Canary.
Reminded me of many years ago when I was driving my five year old to school.....ahead I saw a squashed hedgehog (I think it was) and not wishing her to see all the splattered and splayed innards I pointed to nothing in the sky telling her to look up.

Well, she said, it's not often you see that is it Mum?
What? I asked.
A dead octopus in the middle of the road...... :-)
