rbar. Maybe a photo would make the problem clearer so that someone could advise.
Same problem here I think. Is it where the extension piece comes out of the main pole? We have to slightly lift the rings over the ridge to close the curtains and it's annoying!
That’s a pain I know. You have to really fire the curtains over the join! Too late now but the only real solution is to buy a very long pole so the join is almost at the very end. You could try putting some tapering tape over the join so the curtain hooks don’t hit a barrier? I have found using a curtain rod to lift the curtains as you pull also helps.
I had a couple like that, but got fed up with it and changed them.
I did try tape to smooth it out, but it didn't work for long x
They are a pain, I threw mine out and got a solid one. I know they are more expensive, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for im afraid!
They’re a stupid design, we’ve got one and it’s a pain in the behind.
Been there, done that! No solution other than to physically lift the rings across the join. Stupid design!
Needed the video to understand the issue.

Aye, it seems the solution is to put something at the join to avoid the sudden step. To change it to a lengthy ramp joint instead. It'd need to be smooth, not sticky, though. Maybe cut a piece of hard plastic, or maybe wood, into a long wedge shape and glue it on the top at the step drop ?
Never thought I would be so grateful for low ceilings and windows, I can reach ours easily, never thought about those with high ceilings!
