Thanks for that data Danny. I feel so much more comfortable about that . :-)
I also answered the question in the title Baz, not just you.

I would have thought your response would be to go and collect in person , that payment owed to you by that customer , whoom you did that bit of plastering for :-)

Baz ... I've been very lucky, in that I've only ever had two invoices queried.
Both clients were solicitors...

One of them, my own.

Never fear apocalypse. Somewhere, a lawyer will be examining a "get-out" clause.

Danny, //Meteoroids enter the earth's atmosphere at very high speeds, ranging from 11 km/sec to 72 km/sec (25,000 mph to 160,000 mph).//

Indeed, but even if it travelled at the speed of light (approximatey 186,000 miles PER SECOND) it would take 8 minutes to cover the distance from the sun to the earth. Hence coming from somewhere more distant than the sun – say from the outer reaches of our solar system, it would take much longer. Such a body would not hit the earth suddenly and unexpectedly. It would be spotted and tracked and its estimated time of arrival would be known.
